I've been thinking a lot about the Swine Flu (no Brother, not wondering if if I have it).
I've been thinking, more accurately, about whether or not to get the vaccine for Jonathan.
I'm reading reports which say this flu is no worse than the regular flu, except it can move faster. It's claimed 76 lives of children already (since April) and that terrifies me. However, the numbers for the regular flu from last year are similar, according to Dr. Sears.
Then I read this story about a 4-year old girl in Mississippi who almost died from complications from it. Still, couldn't this have happened even with the regular flu?
Jonathan hasn't even had his flu shot yet, but I'm planning on getting him one this week.
I know I shouldn't be worried, but I am, about how safe the vaccine is. Yet, at the same time, I'm worried about my son. He seems to be catching the cold I've had the last four days. What if he does contract Swine Flu and it rushes through him faster than the we, or the doctors, can catch it?
Any thoughts on this? What are the rest of you mothers/fathers doing? Or what about family members who have children that you know? What are they doing?
This is one of those "Help! I'm worried!" posts. Or one of those "I am such a stinking worry-wort, someone slap me now!" posts.
I'll have a regular post later on today. As long as I don't pass out from worry, that is!
