It isn’t work to hold him close.
It isn’t work to kiss his forehead.
It isn’t work to help him get dressed.
It isn’t work to hold his hand when we cross the street.
It isn’t work to see his smile when I come home from the job.
It isn’t work to sit on the floor and color with him.
It isn’t work to tell him “no, you can’t color on the walls.” It is hard, but it isn’t work.
It isn’t work to cut up his food for him.
It isn’t work to kiss his knee when he falls and scraps it.
It isn’t work to lift him into my arms when he reaches for me.
It is a pleasure. It is an honor. It is a blessing. It is a joy. It is Heaven on Earth. It is the best job ever.
It is being a mom. And I love it.
